Who should attend the forum?
Agency/Organization Program Coordinators (A/OPCs), Approving Officials, Billing Officials, Inspector General staff, Financial, Resource or Budget personnel and other agency officials who manage the purchase, travel, fleet and integrated business lines of the GSA SmartPay charge card program. The training presented at this forum is NOT intended for cardholders.

How do I register for the forum?
Registration for the 2017 GSA SmartPay Training Forum is now closed.

Registration closed as of Tuesday, July 18. Is it still possible to register?
We are no longer accepting new registrations. However, we do handle replacements onsite. The individual must provide an email (printout/hard copy) from the original attendee confirming the replacement.

What are the fees?
There are no registration fees associated with this training forum.

Does Arizona provide tax exemption when I use my GSA SmartPay travel charge card?
Arizona does not provide tax exemption for individually billed travel cards. Agencies/organizations attending the 2017 GSA SmartPay Forum will be required to pay taxes on lodging during their stay. Travelers should work with their agency/organization regarding reimbursement for travel expenses, including taxes. For more tax information, click here.

When will the app be available to Forum registrants?
The app will be available to registrants about two weeks before the Forum. An email with instructions detailing how to download the app will be sent to registrants. The app will include all event announcements and up to date course information, including whether a class is eligible for CLP credit.

How will surveys be distributed?
Paper surveys will not be distributed. Instead, daily course and post event surveys will be accessible online. You will receive a link via email to access these surveys. In addition, the post event survey link will be available through the app a few days after the event. We encourage you to respond to these surveys as we use the feedback to improve our training sessions and event for next year.

How do I access my training certificates?
Forum training certificates will be available for viewing at the forum, but will not be available for printing while at the forum. Certificates can be found on on the forum's website, by clicking here.

What is the dress code?
Attire for all sessions will be business casual. You may want to bring a light jacket or sweater, since the temperature in each meeting room varies.

What is Citibank/DoD Day?
Citibank/DoD Day is for Citibank's DoD customers - specifically, DoD Travel which includes Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines, as well as the the Navy Purchase program. The purpose of Citibank/DoD Day is to:
  • Update and educate the attendees on recent legislative, regulatory and policy changes to include the Government Charge Card Abuse Prevention Act of 2012.
  • Educate new A/OPCs.
  • Provide fresh insights and best practices for managing DoD's programs and delinquencies.
  • Provide Command A/OPCs with the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and compare management techniques while networking with their peers, which encourages continuous performance improvement within the DoD.

What is the Charge Card Manager Certification program?
This year, A/OPCs have an opportunity to earn a "Charge Card Manager Certification" (CCMC) designation by completing the required coursework offered through the annual GSA SmartPay Training Forum and by possessing actual "hands-on" experience in managing a card program and in dealing with cardholders and managers. Use of this certification program is intended to help customer agencies ensure their card management personnel have the fundamental training and experience needed to manage a card program. What am I allowed to accept in gifts when at the forum?
While attending the GSA SmartPay Training Forum, all federal government employees must adhere to the Standards of Ethical Conduct issued by the Office of Government Ethics (OGE). GSA wants to ensure that any gifts offered to employees during the forum do not result in violations of the OGE regulations for acceptance of gifts.

A federal employee may not accept a gift worth more than $20 during the span of the forum from each GSA SmartPay contractor and the card brands. Food and drink (other than modest items of food and refreshments, such as soft drinks, coffee and donuts, offered other than as part of a meal) are also considered gifts under the OGE sponsored outings and promotion items.

How much is parking at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona?
The Phoenix Convention Center has over 4,300 covered parking spaces. Both the North Building and West Building have parking garages attached and the other spaces are located in garages that are just one block from the Convention Center.
